Interested in voicing your opinion in city and
community issues? Apply for the YouthCity Government (YCG)
Program by September 30, 2011. YCG prepares high school
students for civic engagement and community involvement by
training them to identify and address issues facing the city.
In order to apply, you must live in the City of Salt Lake or
attend West, Highland, East, Rowland Hall, Judge Memorial, or
Horizonte.

Program Description
The YouthCity Government (YCG) program is an exciting
opportunity for high school students in Salt Lake City to make
a difference in their community. Founded in 1994, YCG prepares
students to think critically and to learn the importance of
civic engagement and community involvement. YCG participants
are trained to identify and address issues facing Salt Lake
City. YCG members have been involved in the development of the
Jordan and Fairmont Skate Parks, Salt Lake Super Stomps
(dances), lobbying the legislature, and advising the Mayor and
City Council on a number of community concerns and issues.
Cost
YouthCity Government is free to all
participants.
